Tea Tunes - This Moment
Kevin
The song is about slowing down, breathing, and not putting too much pressure on yourself. The “little fish” in the song is like a small version of you — swimming gently, not rushing, just moving step by step.

I've recently found myself getting more and more busy with DJ gigs on the weekends that I spend so much of my time digging for new dance music to play. Because of this, I rarely give myself time to search for more chill or laid back music. I came across this song on a particularly calm weekend where I didn't have any bookings and I was running errands with my wife. This entire album has a way of helping me release my anxieties and bringing me back to the present moment.

This song serves as a reminder to me that we can only control ourselves. Our actions and our words. Everything else can come'on and get behind!

It's so light and sincere on the surface, but the lyrics are a promise to be there for a loved one, no matter how it hits. Also, it is just a pure bop - I can't help but move and sing along when I hear it (whether over speakers or just in my head). I truly am released from whatever was holding my thoughts whenever it comes on.

I love this song because it talks about generational trauma and how we all have it, but it's up to us to choose our own path while understanding that everyone has their own grief to carry. It's also a reminder to be kind to everyone and give them grace. As the song goes on, the beat itself feels so freeing and makes you want to dance and just release all your burdens.

This song always gets me. It’s impossible for me not to belt it. All the lyrics and the catharsis of this song make me feel like anything is possible and the future is bright. This song helps me to realize that a lot of times the thing clouding our perspective or preventing ourselves from reaching our goals is in fact ourselves. Changing our perspective can be so challenging though, and this tune really grabs me and pulls me to sing along and ponder the lyrics and remember that the rest is still unwritten.

This song feels like a big, satisfying exhale, like letting go of all the stuff you’ve been holding onto. The melody it self just makes you feel free, like you're floating away. The lyrics to me, means recognizing the past and acknowledging what's left unsaid and that words hurt but they can heal.

When I listen to music, it is the melodies, harmonies, rhythm and balance that sway me. I sometimes don't even know what the lyrics say but it'll be the sounds itself that move me. This song specifically is very sweet and light and helps me drift into a place of serenity. The title implies the feeling of living for today forgetting the pains of the past and the sorrows the future may bring. We really only have right now, after all!

I listen to this song when I want to daydream that I’m sitting at a small café in an old Italian piazza. Here, there is no past or future—only sunshine, cobblestones, fresh limoncello, and this song playing softly nearby. Let everything else go and enjoy the moment. The world slows down, and for a little while, life feels perfectly timeless.

The first time I heard this song I felt my entire nervous system relax. It sounds like that feeling of goosebumps spreading across your body when a cool breeze hits your skin. Lizzy McAlpine just has one of those voices that's so soothing (even when her lyrics are heartbreaking). The journey the song takes you on is ethereal and thrilling. Highly recommend listening on full blast in the car or on headphones to really let the song envelope you.

In the moment, you exist outside of time. The closest thing to temporal movement is like a candle flickering, watching it dance and gutter. I really find delight in those little moments. “Sweet Tides” glimmers like this: the horns, the air, the dub bass all looping three ecstatic chords, collapsing in on itself. Lou Lou Ghelichkhani’s airy singing aches with longing and gentle rapture. Thievery Corporation are just so good at capturing that dreamlike feeling.

To me, this song hits the theme of this release right on the nose. The vocals and and mantra-like delivery coupled with the ambient yet melodic music, really pull me into what it means to be present and let go of everything that keeps me adrift in concern of the past and future.

Although this song is not in my normal genre, every time it’s vibrations gently rock my aural lobe it reverberates throughout my nervous system and the rythym takes me over, bailamos.

When this song comes on I feel a wave of nostalgia and get to thinking what it is I want from this life. It’s creates the ideal atmosphere to reflect about things from my past, and if those memories are ones I want to keep holding onto as time goes on. The song itself talks about yearning for someone, and I can’t help but reflect about what it is I myself am looking for in love and in life.

A song that helps me release the weight of the past and the pull of the future is one that feels a little melancholic on the surface, but at its core is all about acceptance. It acknowledges that pain is a part of life, but also that I get to choose how I move through it—and that choice brings a sense of freedom. It reminds me to let go of the things I can’t control and to make peace with who I’ve been and who I’m becoming. Listening to it helps quiet my worries and grounds me in the present.

This song is a long drive home from the beach as the sun sets down. The comfort of peace and the beauty in a fleeting moment. To me, it's a respite from the deluge of day to day necessities.
